Newsweek Ranks Four Lifespace Communities Among America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities in 2025
January 9, 2025
Lifespace Communities, Inc., one of the nation’s top 10 largest nonprofit senior living organizations, announced that four of its continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) have been recognized as America’s Best for 2025 by Newsweek, in partnership with respected global research firm Statista.
According to Newsweek, the appeal of CCRCs has surged alongside the growth of the senior population. Over the past decade, the number of CCRC’s has doubled, now exceeding 2,000 nationwide. Combining independent living with seamless access to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation therapies, CCRCs provide an all-in-one solution that ensures residents’ needs are met as they evolve over time.
“This recognition from Newsweek and Statista is a testament to our team members’ unwavering commitment to provide exception care, vibrant living environments, and meaningful experiences for our residents,” said Lifespace President and CEO Jesse Jantzen. “We remain dedicated to continuously enhancing our communities through thoughtful investments, personalized services, and innovative amenities, empowering our residents to pursue their passions and live life to the fullest.”
The four Lifespace CCRCs ranked among America’s best in 2025 include:
- Friendship Village of Bloomington, Bloomington, MN
- Abbey Delray South, Delray Beach, FL
- Querencia at Barton Creek, Austin, TX
- Friendship Village of South Hills, Upper St. Clair, PA
“It is both an honor and a privilege to serve our incredible residents, who inspire us every day with their resilience, kindness, and dynamic spirits,” Jantzen added. “This recognition underscores our heartfelt commitment to creating a true home for our residents—a place where they feel supported and cared for. None of which is possible without the dedication of our team members, whose care and compassion make our communities so special.”
The 2nd edition of America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) 2025 highlights the top 300 facilities across the 25 states with the highest number of CCRCs, providing a valuable resource for those seeking guidance on senior living options. The rankings are based on four data sources: national online surveys of medical professionals, staff, residents, and acquaintances; CARF accreditation; visitor satisfaction data from Accushield; and Google reviews as a measure of overall satisfaction. This year’s methodology introduced visitor satisfaction and Google reviews as new scoring factors, while the Care Level Assessment Score was removed due to limited data availability. The expanded state coverage and updated scoring model offer a more comprehensive view of the nation’s best CCRCs.
