Wesley Court Senior Living Employees Receive Service Member Patriot Award

Wesley Court Senior Living, part of Lifespace Communities, held an event on Dec. 3 in honor of team members Abraham Mathew, vice president, regional operations, and Cindy Clark, director, regional human resources, who received the Service Member Patriot Award from the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Team member Abi Alagbado, healthcare administrator at Wesley Court and a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve, nominated Mathew and Clark for the award. Alagbado was deployed from May to November 2024.

“I have always loved serving my country and am honored to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserve,” Alagbado said. “Deployments can be stressful and disruptive for both families and employers. However, Abraham and Cindy provided me the flexibility I needed to serve my country and welcomed me back to Wesley Court once my deployment ended. I truly appreciate their support and am happy to be able to meet the needs of residents and my team at Wesley Court.”

ESGR created the Service Member Patriot Award as a way for an employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve to thank supervisors for their support prior to, during, and after a military deployment.

“On behalf of Wesley Court and Lifespace Communities, it’s an honor to accept this award in recognition of Abi’s contributions. Abi is a valued team member who is highly regarded by both the residents and the team at Wesley Court. At Lifespace, we are committed to supporting exceptional individuals like Abi, especially as he has so bravely and nobly served our country,” said Mathew.

Clark echoed Mathew’s sentiments. “We are proud to honor and express our deepest gratitude to Abi for his dedicated service in the military. His commitment to serving our country is truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to have him back as a valued member of our team at Wesley Court. Lifespace Communities is committed to supporting the personal and professional growth of our employees, and it is a privilege to celebrate Abi’s achievements both in the military and in our workplace” she said.
