Get to Know Jodi Bleier

Q: As the vice president of financial operations and strategic growth, describe your role and responsibilities at Lifespace Communities.

A: My role is to ensure alignment of our key strategies with our mission, vision and organizational goals, and then help guide our efforts to move those strategies forward. I’m also responsible for developing operating metrics and benchmarks to help identify best practices that can be shared among all of our communities.

Q: Where do you see Lifespace Communities in the next five years?

A: I see us continuing to expand the services we deliver to our residents, whether through redevelopment projects or by offering innovative services and amenities. Our residents will continue to be more educated about their options and desires. Lifespace is in a position to proactively address shifting trends and be an industry leader for current and future residents.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your career?

A: I was in consulting for 17 years before joining Lifespace, so I really enjoy work that offers a variety of challenges. At Lifespace, I can spend part of my day on heavy analysis, and then pivot to look at our broader strategies from a big-picture perspective. Few careers offer such a broad view of an organization. It’s also gratifying to know the work I do can have a positive impact on people’s lives.

Q: What inspired your path into senior living?

A: I feel very fortunate to have earned a position in senior living without knowing much about the industry. After I visited my first CCRC, I knew this is where I belonged, and here I am almost 20 years later. I’m inspired by the Lifespace mission and motivated by the connection between our team members and residents.

Q: As we approach spring, do you have a favorite outdoor activity you enjoy?

A: I love to be outside when the weather is nice. On the weekends, I’ll head over to the park near my house and walk the trail that circles a beautiful lake. It’s a nice long walk where I can definitely get in my 10,000 steps.
