New residents preparing to move to Oak Trace have the opportunity to not only personally customize their new homes, but to completely remodel them prior to moving in.

The remodel includes options such as custom features, upgraded appliances, new flooring and paint. This allows new residents to showcase their own personalities in their new homes, something many seniors have come to expect.

While this benefit is certainly appealing to new Oak Trace residents, it also provides a much needed service for the local community. The previously used appliances, which include washing machines, dryers, microwaves and ovens, are donated to the DuPage Habitat for Humanity.

“We’re excited to donate these appliances that still work to people in the greater community who need them,” said Gail Magoon, marketing director of Oak Trace. “Our new residents are happy to have sparkling new homes customized to their tastes, but it’s even more rewarding for them to know they’re also part of giving to a great local cause.”
